Tia rested in the cool air of the Pooch Coach this afternoon.
We had a great day! We started off with a little breakfast at a McDonalds in Fort Wayne. We made small talk with 2 of their regulars. As we left, we were behind a garbage truck and that's where I heard today's best quote. Rick told us on the CB, "Don't drive in the Garbage Truck Juice." After reflecting on that, I think it's pretty good advice, in life, avoid Garbage Truck Juice!
We drove in fog for quite awhile. We approached Gary, Indiana, and the fog cleared in time to see the old industrial sites there and the looming Chicago skyline. Even on Saturday morning, the traffic on I-90 around Chicago was a little much, but we made it. We had the opportunity to pay Illinois a lot of Toll!
After that, the weather was picture perfect. We road around 450 miles today and are spending the night in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Tomorrow the plan is to travel to Oacoma, South Dakota. When you are riding a motorcycle, you interact with other motorists more. Today, Rick sneezed, and a passenger in the vehicle next to him yelled, "Bless you." Dog lovers and children love seeing the dogs on the bikes. We get lots of thumbs up for them.
One bit of wonderful news is that we gained an hour today. I can think of many work days when I could have used an extra hour. It was so much better receiving it on this beautiful day, celebrating life and God's other creations!

ReplyDeleteOne time Jim and I saw two birds taking a bath in some dumpster juice, and they seemed pretty happy. Maybe just MOST of the time avoid garbage truck juice. :)
