August 7.......

What a day!
We left Sheridan Wyoming this morning and set the GPS to guide us to "Old Faithful." We were directed through terrain that was nearly as beautiful as the Badlands(still my favorite). It was early and it seemed as if we were all alone out there. I thought as we made our way west on US14, that our God is the greatest architect, artist, sculptor, healer, master, the list goes on and on. It is a beautiful world.

We stopped in Cody, Wyoming for awhile and started riding towards Yellowstone. Our quote of today was when Rick and Dar exited a tunnel to find Buffalo Bill Reservoir before them and Rick exclaimed, "Holy Moly."

We entered Yellowstone from the east gate and made our way around the loop to Old Faithful. It was hard for any of us to believe that we were really there. Yellowstone is quite a place. The Geysers and Hot Springs are fascinating. We saw Bear and Elk and Mule Deer. Thankfully there were no close encounters. I was a little concerned considering our mode of transportation!

We might have a little time to relax tomorrow. We should end our travels for tomorrow in Missoula, MT.

  2. Several years ago I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go see the Grand Canyon it was spectacular, we went to the visitors center did some observation this was before they put in the new overlook that is transparent. Then we drove around the top at one point an enormous cloud was coming over the side of the Grand Canyon what a feeling, kind of scary at a point because you can't see where the road and the edge of the cliff are, but as you drive it become clear. I think that is the only place that I have ever been where you could drive through a cloud. I can't wait for you to see all the splendor.
